Every company around wants people to use its mobile payment system this holiday season. Walmart just released its mobile payment option; Apple Pay added new bank support;
and, even Google is getting in on the fun by running a new promotion
especially designed to get Nexus users to try out Android Pay.
Unsurprisingly,
the promotion is called "Tap with Nexus." The idea is simple from
there: if you use your Nexus device to make a purchase any time from now
until December 31st and you could get a $20 Best Buy gift card. You'll
need either a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, or
Nexus 6P running Android KitKat 4.4 and higher to use Android Pay. And,
of course, you'll have to be in the United States as well, since Android
Pay doesn't exist in any other countries yet.
This is limited to one gift card per account, and it
appears as though there is some sort of limit on the number of Best Buy
gift cards that will be given out, so the promotion may not last until
New Year's Eve as scheduled. It will be an electronic gift card, not a
physical gift card as well. Google doesn't want to pay shipping costs.
